Learn to paint in watercolour from scratch! If you live in North West London you can join Francine at Cricklewood Library, NW2 on Tuesdays from 8 October 2024 at 12.30 - 2.30pm. £15 pp

Watercolour is Francine’s favourite medium, in this course she will introduce you to the joy of this accessible medium. You’ll learn very basic drawings skills • the different types of watercolour paint • the three essential watercolour techniques • why the quality of paper will make a huge difference • how to choose your brushes • how to mix colours without them becoming ‘muddy’ • the secret to keeping your colours light and bright.

MONDAY CREATIVES [ONLINE]

Get your week off to a good start with our regular Monday Zoom painting class. Suitable for those who have little bit of watercolour experience. Mondays from 7 October 2024 at 11am-12.45pm. £18 pp

Every Monday morning Francine will teach a new technique (live Online) and will give tips and advice (Francine loves questions!), then we all have a go at our own painting. You can show your own and see each other’s work (only if you wish to!). Each Zoom session is also recorded so you can catch up if you miss a session. This class is perfect if you like to experiment with new techniques, learn about colour mixing, study other artists’ work and create watercolour portraits, landscapes and still life. Try a class to see if you like it!

What you’ll need for all Watercolour classes
• A set of GOOD quality watercolours* - we recommend Winsor & Newton ‘Cotman’ for beginners, and Winsor & Newton ‘Artists’or Professional’ (see photo) quality for those with a littlemore experience -pans or tubes are both OK.
• A4 or A3 pad of 140gsm CARTRIDGE OR DRAWING paper
• A3 pad of COLD pressed watercolour paper 300gsm
• Several (sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 16) flat and round watercolour brushes. Synthetic sable is very good (and cheaper!)
• A flat white ceramic plate (not plastic) to mix colours
• Masking tape, kitchen towel
• Small bottle of black Indian Ink
• A couple of drawing pens – 0.3 and 0.6 or a dip-in pen
